This is in a country where this activity is relatively new, the scholarly traditions are very different, and the style of the language makes translation not very successful. Not only there is a detail explanation of grammar usage supported by numerous examples taken from various articles, there is plenty of material to improve writing style.
In addition, this book has skilfully balanced the conflict presently faced by many writers which are how to elaborate the methodology of experiments clearly and be succinct at the same time, how to avoid unintended plagiarism and refer other authors work, and how to accentuate the results of experiments without being too emphatic.
English for Writing Research Papers Though many titles are available on this theme, what I found very useful in this book is methodical layout of each chapter, orderly flow of subject and easy to read texts. To address this issue, this book is full of specific examples, like using verb rather than noun form of a word, reduce number of link words and many more.
My only caveat in regard to the second edition is that the discussion of the publishing process itself is brief, because the focus of the book is on English; people concerned with the whole process and the publishability of the actual content choice of journal, avoiding predatory sources in research and publishing, international ethical guidelines for authors, getting to peer review, etc.
The book is both detailed and clear enough for those with at least an intermediate level of English, and it has given many of my students and colleagues the support and confidence needed to organize their content effectively and go ahead and write in English from the earliest stage.
This pattern helps reader to decide if to skip, skim or peruse the chapter. Again researcher will be benefited from plenty of examples which may help in emphasising the research work without sounding repetitive.
